Where It All Began
Nikeya Consulting was born from a defining realization. Strong performance can mask deep cultural failure. Leadership is not proven by results alone. It is proven by the trust it builds with all stakeholders and the cost it refuses to ignore.
After enduring a toxic workplace where performance came at the expense of well-being and weakened the organization’s health, our founder and president, Sarika Bhakta, faced a pivotal question. What could I have done differently?
Even as the organization exceeded performance expectations, high turnover and declining morale revealed a deeper truth. Toxic leadership and culture are not sustainable. The gap between stated values and lived behaviors came at a real cost. Fear grew. Burnout deepened. Innovation stalled.
This introspection sparked a new purpose: Empowering people to live and lead authentically to inspire change globally.™ That commitment became the foundation for what Nikeya Consulting is today.
In late 2024, we expanded our expertise through the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)™ credential, which complemented our globally recognized Certified Diversity Executive (CDE)® certification. This expanded foundation strengthened our capacity to drive human-centered strategy and inclusive culture transformation. It also marked an important evolution in our journey, leading to our transition from Nikeya Diversity Consulting to Nikeya Consulting to reflect the broader scope and deeper capability of the impact we are positioned to make.
Today, we partner with mission-driven clients and communities to align people, systems, and strategy for innovative impact. Our work spans leadership development, HR transformation, inclusive engagement, economic inclusion, and organizational learning.
Nikeya Consulting was founded on one belief: inclusive engagement, grounded in psychological safety and lived values, strengthens organizational and community health by ensuring every stakeholder, across all backgrounds, feels empowered to innovate and impact the future.
What began as a personal mission has become a consulting firm that helps leaders build strategic cultures they can stand behind without being pulled by the pendulum swing.

Sarika Bhakta is a transformational executive and trusted advisor with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations navigate growth, change, and cultural complexity across sectors and global contexts. Her journey from Gujarat, India, to the American Midwest shaped a leadership perspective grounded in authenticity, resilience, and the belief that meaningful impact begins when people are empowered to lead with clarity and purpose.
As Founder and President of Nikeya Consulting, Sarika works with leaders and organizations to align people, systems, and strategy in ways that strengthen organizational health and drive sustainable performance. Her expertise spans leadership development, human capital strategy, strategic planning, organizational transformation, learning and development, community and economic development, resource acquisition, and business growth. She has partnered with corporate, nonprofit, government, academic, and community organizations, helping leaders address complex challenges while building cultures that are both high performing and human centered.
Sarika is known for bringing strategic insight together with practical execution. Her work helps leaders move beyond performative change to create environments where trust, accountability, and innovation can take root. She is widely regarded as a valued thought partner to executive teams seeking to strengthen leadership capacity, navigate workforce complexity, and create conditions where both people and organizations can thrive.
